How to choose a designer bed?
When deciding on a customised bed, you need to consider many parameters shaping functionality and comfort. Let’s look at the structure type, materials, style and other important aspects to be kept in mind to pick the right bed for your bedroom:
- Bed dimensions. Designer beds are custom-made in different sizes, however when choosing it, the height of the person and the floor-space of the room should be considered. Go for the largest bed that will fit in the bedroom without obstructing your movements around the room. Standard single bed is 90 cm wide, while small double is between 140 and 160 cm. Double beds are 160 cm wide. As for the length, beds are 190 to 200 cm, but if you need a bed longer than 200 cm, you may order a custom version. Remember that the bed should be 10-15 cm longer than its user’s height. For double beds, the best width is when you can put your hands behind your head without bothering a person sleeping beside, while for a single bed, your elbows should fully fit on the bed without going beyond the mattress.

Especially if the bedroom is small and there is not enough space to store bedding. Any customised bed can be fitted with a storage space underneath, accessed using a lift mechanism. Gas lift is the most reliable and durable among them, which can effortlessly lift approx., 100-120 kg.
- Headboard. If you so choose and if the bed position allows, your bed can have a headboard. Your bed can have a soft or hard surface headboard, or none if the wall behind your bed is a soft wall panel as a part of the décor.
- Mattress. For healthy sleep, you need to buy a bed with an orthopaedic mattress. The best mattress filler is latex foam. When choosing a mattress, opt for a firm to medium firm mattress, according to your preferences or medical advice.
